Explore the magic of a working regenerative ranch with hands-on field trips in Texas Hill Country. This field trip includes hands-on learning with a variety of plants and animals, as well as options to dig into history with a guided fossil hunt and dine at the ranch’s farm-fresh restaurant.
This experience is built for groups of 10 or more learners of any age, and ideal for homeschoolers, school groups, homesteaders, or families or friends looking to learn with leaders of the regenerative ranching movement in the United States.
This hands-on experience offers your learners the opportunity to meet and interact with a variety of animals, including cows, chickens, pigs, sheep, goats, and even some exotic birds. They’ll also explore fruit tree orchards, gardens, greenhouses, and learn more about how to grow food in the Texas climate.
Experiences can be customized to your group’s ages and interests, with lighthearted animal meets and pictures for children, or more in-depth ranching discussions with serious producers.
During their time on the ranch, your learners will gain a deeper understanding of regenerative farming practices that support the health of the animals and helps cultivate rich, fertile soil. Depending on your group, you can just learn the basics or do a deep exploration of how regenerative ranching helps promote biodiversity and capture carbon – and how you can apply these 6 basic principals to your own gardens or land.
Sovereignty Ranch founders are leaders of the regenerative ranching movement in the United States, and these field trips are a unique opportunity to see their work and life’s passions in person.
Your learners can also get their hands on history at the ranch’s fossil cliff, with an optional guided fossil hunt. Bring a bag from home and take home traces of history to remember your time on the ranch or study more under a microscope.
You can also stay for lunch at the farm’s onsite restaurant, which creates incredible feasts from food produced on the farm or certified organic. The farm is owned by professional restauranteurs, and they know how to customize menu options for kid-pleasing crowd favorites or dishes that will delight discerning adult palates.
This unique experience has something for learners of all ages, and the whole family is welcome to join in the fun and learning!
Field trips generally run 2 hours for the basic tour; lunch or fossil hunts extending time. Experiences start at $250 for a group of 10 people, with $25 per person. The farm vehicle can accommodate 16 people.
