Partnerships for Texas Agricultural Literacy & Rural–Urban Connection

Discover how Delve partners with Farm Bureaus, Extension, and producer groups to expand agricultural literacy through hands-on farm experiences across Texas.

About DelvePartnerships for Texas Agricultural Literacy & Rural–Urban Connection

Delve Experiences connects thousands of Texans with agriculture through hands-on farm experiences. We’re ready to expand this impact—together with partners who share our commitment to agricultural literacy, farm sustainability, and stronger rural–urban connections.

🌾 Why This Matters

Most Texans today are generations removed from the farm. Students rarely see where food comes from, families want meaningful connections to agriculture, and farmers need new ways to sustain their livelihoods.

Delve bridges that gap by linking real farms with schools, libraries, homeschool networks, and families. Our experiences:

  1. Build agricultural literacy in youth and adults alike
  2. Strengthen rural–urban understanding
  3. Provide diversified income for small farms
  4. Inspire the next generation of Texans to value agriculture

📈 Proven Impact

Since launching in 2023, Delve has:

  1. Welcomed 5,000+ guests to Texas farms
  2. Generated $50,000+ in new farm revenue
  3. Built a trusted network of 30+ farm partners
  4. Earned dozens of 5-star reviews from educators, parents, and community leaders

Our infrastructure handles booking, payments, TEKS-aligned content, and risk management. Farmers focus on what they do best—teaching, hosting, and inspiring.

🤝 Partnership Opportunities

We invite Farm Bureau chapters, Extension offices, commodity groups, and producer associations to join us in advancing ag literacy.

Ways to collaborate:

  1. County Chapter Sponsorships: Underwrite student field trips or community farm days. Every program supports local farms and delivers agricultural education close to home.
  2. Ag Literacy Series in Public Venues: Fund a three-part series at libraries or community centers—covering topics like pollinators, hydroponics, or soil health—to reach broad audiences.
  3. FFA & 4-H Learning Enhancements: Partner with us to co-create on-farm modules that extend classroom and chapter learning into real-world contexts.
  4. Farm Resilience Pilots: Help small farms safely test agritourism offerings with reduced risk. We’ll provide data and impact reports for your board or council.

📚 Real-World Examples

  1. Milking Goats on a Family Farm (North Texas): Students have learned to hand-milk goats and see firsthand how dairy animals are raised. Parents describe the experience as “a powerful way for kids to connect food on their plate with real animals and real work.”
  2. Animal Encounters for Early Learners (DFW): Hundreds of elementary students have visited working farmsteads where they feed goats, meet chickens, and care for sheep. Teachers highlight gains in empathy, vocabulary, and science understanding that extend back into the classroom.
  3. Cheesemaking at a Working Ranch (North Texas): Families and older students have taken raw milk straight from the bucket to fresh mozzarella, linking food science with the ranching tradition that shaped Texas agriculture.
  4. Pollinators in Action (North Texas): Our beekeeping programs bring students face-to-face with the role of bees in Texas agriculture. Librarians and teachers call these sessions “the most engaging STEM programs of the year.”
  5. Urban Agriculture Inspiration (Houston): Hydroponic tours in the city have sparked curiosity about sustainable food production. One student left saying, “I didn’t know food could grow without soil—now I want to try it at home.”

💬 Shared Priorities

Our work directly supports Farm Bureau and Extension goals:

  1. Agricultural literacy: Authentic, curriculum-aligned learning.
  2. Advocacy through experience: Positive encounters that shape informed consumers.
  3. Farm succession & resilience: Stronger incomes today, stronger advocates tomorrow.
  4. County-level impact: Turnkey programs that can be sponsored locally.
