We toured the San Antonio Food Bank today, and had a fantastic experience. The warehouse is incredibly organized, but the star of the tour is the farm. The food bank manages a 25 acre urban farm, complete with greenhouse, cutting gardens, fruit trees and water catchment cisterns. They also have a beautiful commercial kitchen and educational space for aspiring chefs. We were blown away by the scope and scale. They will offer more tours in the future, and have ongoing volunteer opportunities. We can’t wait to go play in the dirt!
