Craft, Connect, and Create on a Texas Ranch 🐑
Whether you’re a lifelong fiber artist or just love trying new things with friends, there’s something magical about making something by hand—especially when it starts with wool from the animals just outside the studio window.
At a small, working ranch just south of Fort Worth, you can book a private wool class for your group, surrounded by rare sheep, friendly horses, and wide Texas skies. It’s the kind of experience that leaves you relaxed, inspired, and maybe just a little sheep-obsessed.
🧵 Curious about the animals behind the fiber?
Meet the world’s cutest (and rarest) sheep in our guide to Valais Blacknose Sheep in Texas—and learn what makes them so special.
✋ What You'll Do
Choose from three hands-on classes designed for groups of crafters, curious beginners, or anyone who loves wool, color, and creativity:
🧶 Raw Wool Processing
Want to learn it all—from fleece to finished product? This full-day class covers scouring, dyeing, drum carding, felting, art yarn, e-spinning, and more.
💧 Wet Felting Class
Make beautiful pieces using wet felting techniques, with wool from rare sheep, yaks, and even camel! This class includes a secret back-saving method the rancher swears by.
🧵 Needle Felting & Weaving
Perfect for tactile crafters—sculpt, layer, and weave fibers into unique pieces to take home (or give as handmade gifts with real heart).
All supplies are provided. Just bring your lunch, your group, and your curiosity.
🐏 Meet the Sheep (and Friends)
This isn’t just any ranch—it’s home to Valais Blacknose Sheep, often called the “world’s cutest sheep”. These rare animals are part of a global conservation effort, and whatever class you choose, you’ll get to meet them up close while learning how their wool becomes art.
You’ll also see long-maned Gypsy Horses, Tibetan yaks (yes, really), and a wool studio tucked inside a ranch house full of stories.
